This year Unicol celebrates 45 years in the AV Industry. We have a new website which we hope is an improvement and would like to thank all of our customers, both young and old for supporting us, as we have strived to support you. The ethos of providing well designed and robust equipment for the professional installer is at the forefront of our efforts in order that installs are completed quickly and cost effectively. It is important that our customers make good margin when buying from us and we aim to give value for money on both standard and bespoke equipment, especially on large single order items. As always Unicol will continue to provide the best product and best service at a competitive price. We are proud to be British and continue manufacturing in Oxford whilst maintaining our position as de facto "Industry Standard" UK leader.
Unicol has recently designed and manufactured a wall mount for the new Hitachi CP-A100 short throw projector. The design process was carried out in conjunction with Hitachi and the projector and mount have been on show at BETT and ISE proving a resounding success. The Hitachi CP-A100 won the EMEA and INAVATION award 2008, sponsored by ISE, for Display Product for Commercial Use. Mounts for other short throw projectors, such as the new Sanyo XE50, have also been designed and a new wall arm mount for these projectors is in manufacture. Digital Signage has had a slow start and advertisers have yet to be fully convinced of the return on investment. However, we at Unicol feel that the strength of the market for flat screens and the thirst for new technology is driving Digital Signage forward. Especially exciting is the area of interactivity as more people use touch screens in their everyday lives. Unicol has produced a kiosk style housing for either single or back-to-back 50inch screens mounted in portrait. U-Touch have supplied the Touch screens and Nexus the content platform. It has been designed with flexibility in mind and a number of different options are available. We also have a wall mounted housing for a 65inch screen and are working on sleek designs for 57inch screens. For the World Duty Free shop at Heathrow Terminal 5 we supplied HoloVis International with a structure to support 48 Sony screens in a back to back montage of Signage.
